The natural outcome of power and efficiency: speed. The electron will cruise at over 130 knots, outperforming most equivalent internal combustion aircraft.
Weighing in at under 600 kg, the electron falls into the Light Sports Aircraft category and accordingly has fixed landing gear and a stall speed of less than 45 knots.
The electron will be delivered as a home-built kit, which means we do all the hard work and leave you with the best parts of building your own aircraft.
All safety features are standard, including four-point harnesses, a comprehensive powertrain sensor and breaker system, and a Galaxy ballistic aircraft recovery system for the ultimate peace of mind.

A 75 kW high efficiency electric outrunner motor powers a ground-adjustable 3-blade composite prop, making the electron the quietest aircraft in its class.
From powertrain to aerodynamics the electron is designed for efficiency. The combination of extensive use of laminar flow aerodynamics and a low wetted permit a high cruise speed with an exceptional flight quality.
The modern pilot has a wealth of information at their disposal with digital systems. Utilising a glass cockpit, inflight avionics, powertrain monitoring and navigation are just a touch away.
The concept for the electron originated from an idea to build the world’s fastest electric aircraft. The now thriving development of electric technologies has made it possible, even practical, to have all-electric aircraft. The design and development of a high-speed electric aircraft must distill the best in aerodynamic and drive efficiencies to make it possible to reach the high speeds necessary for this achievement.
Over time this concept morphed into a high-performance, two seat electric aircraft. Rather than push the development of merely a technology demonstrator, we have instead shaped the design goals to deliver an aircraft that can bring these advances in technology within the reach of the general aviator. This is the electron – performance and excitement delivered in a way that you can now share with someone else.
The project is currently in the detailed design phase, with the testing of a 1:3.5 scale prototype underway. Construction of the first full-size prototype is scheduled to commence in April 2019. The electron will initially be delivered in kit form to be licensed as an experimental aircraft in the LSA category.
